FAQ

Why should I use the internet instead of the auntynet?

The auntynet is limited geographically and socially. There are multiple auntynets and marriage candidate profiles are not shared between them. A centralised system is required in order to increase the chances of people finding a match. The auntynet provides very basic and often inaccurate information about marriage candidates, whereas the profiles on this website are very detailed.

What if I don't have a parent or a guardian?

Contact us about your situation. You may have to support your story with documentation.

Can I register if I have no permanent right of stay in the UK?

No. You must be a British citizen, citizen of an EU country or have a permanent residence visa.

Why do you force me to answer so many questions?

This service aims to reduce the number of hoops that people jump through in order to marry. Why meet another family, only to discover an insurmountable incompatibility which could have been dealt with more easily at the beginning.

Why do I need to prove my identity before I can fully access the website?

This service is provided by Mosques, therefore the clientele must be traceable and serious about marriage. These checks help to ensure that all parties behave in a halal and ethical manner.

Can I have my account activated and I promise to complete the questions later?

No. Every profile must be of a high quality at all times.

Who will have access to my personal details?

  • Maulana Muhammad Mustaqeem Shah, Maulana Mohammad Ishaq (Masjid Al-Furqan).
  • Shaukat Sultan (Madrasa Taleem-Ul-Islam).

Administration staff user accounts are assigned to named individuals and are not shared with other personnel.

How do I change my email address or password?

You can change your email address on the "Edit Registration" page.

When someone emails me, where does the email go and how do I respond?

When a member sends you a message, it goes into your on-site message Inbox. We then send an email to your personal email address to let you know that it's there.

To read the message, login to the site and go to your Inbox. If you decide to write back, click "reply", write your own message and then click Send. Your message will go into the member's on-site Inbox, and we'll let them know it's there with an email to their personal email address.

All communications with other members stay on-site so that you never have to give out any personal information until you feel completely ready. Then when you are, you can exchange phone numbers and even meet in person.

How do I edit my profile?

To update your profile, click "Edit Profile" in the menu. Remember to save your changes at the bottom of the screen when finished.

Try to put your best attributes forward with at least one photo and snappy, detailed essays about your interests. The photo is key since most people feel more comfortable writing to people they can see. Try to stay positive in your essays.
